To encourage the pursuit of comprehensive music instruction that prepares the student for successful artistic experiences and helps them develop an appreciation for their own workmanship and creative abilities.
Barbara Cooper grew up pursuing musical interests through piano, voice, choral, band and stage experiences. Early in her career, Barbara developed youth arts programs while earning her music degree from Wright State University, where she attended on vocal scholarship. She received additional music training at Pennsylvania State University, Ohio University and the Cincinnati Conservatory. She has directed ensembles throughout the Miami Valley and taught music at all levels in public schools. While working on her Master’s degree at United Theological Seminary, she sang in and later directed the United Sound and initiated UTS’ praise band. In addition to private instruction, Barbara has worked in the church for over twenty years preaching, teaching and leading music ministries. She has become a respected church leader, specializing in worship innovations.
